The Torah(transliterated) reads, "Sh'ma Yisra'eil Adonai Eloheinu Adonai echad." The Old Testament, Deuteronomy 6:4, KJV, reads "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD" In Mark 12:28 a scribe(Jewish teacher of the law) hearing Jesus being publicly debated and perceiving Jesus answering well, asked Jesus, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord." It seems everyone has on blinders when it comes to this knowledge. Most Jews as well as most professed Christians fail to grasp what a profound and beautiful truth this truly is -that Jesus Christ taught the One God, Shema, as the greatest commandment."
God made Abraham a promise four hundred and fifty years before the law. The promises of God are yea and amen. Let God be true and every man a liar. God's consummate plan is finished and free for the taking to Jew and Gentile. What a glorious invitation and once in a lifetime opportunity to become sons of Abraham and daughters of Sara. What a worthy cause of rejoicing, that we have been made to drink of the same Spirit because of what Jesus did. Jesus prayed that we might be one as He and the father are one.
"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, LORD God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints." Revelation 15:2-3
