One priesthood, the priesthood of believers and JESUS alone is High Priest.

The Blueprint for Local Assembly

What many people think of when they hear the word church is a dull, boring, institutionalized waste of precious time, a relic of the dark ages, or a phoney baloney, clown show. While this may be what is available based on Yellow Page listings and catholic/trinitarian, TV programming, nothing could be further from the truth of the true design for local assembly created by God.

Keep in mind, the greater the value of an original, the more will be invested in creating any number of sophisticated counterfeits and cheap knock offs. The truth is that authentic, local assembly as recorded by the apostles is luminous, unique, meaningfully relevant, and the most obscure, animated, resl life social platform in existence -one that can't be bought as it was purchased in blood. It's priceless and worth dying for, which is what makes it such a problem to the enemy.

The blueprint for local assembly laid out by the apostles is a cutting edge, uncensored, local hub, of face to face, in real life, exchange, free of gate keeping so that freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, exchange of information, and most importantly, edification and healing of people, flourishishes all within the setting of true, brotherly love and fellowship with built in accountability.

Built in accountability keeps membership healthfully pruned of those who are uncomfortable with their lives being exposed to light or being held accountable to others who desire and know their own need of being held accountable. When one lives in a healthy family and no one is being called out, all can be at ease. Accountabilty protects against spoilage, corruption and has innummerous benefits.

The following is an attempt to communicate what far too few are saying or hearing. So many men(and women) who profess Christ, don't want to hear and certainly can't be bothered with reasoning together, especially with anyone they deem as beneath them. They stop their ears, throw fits and will quickly and if at all possible, quietly, usher you out of *their churches, before truth they deem threatening spreads to *their people. That is unless you are dealing with a level of corruption intent on harming those that oppose it. Then, it could turn into a crime scene as power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Truth is the biggest threat to illegitimate authority or anything built on lies. Truth if left to run it's course will expose anything slightly off and in need of correction. Truth like water, cannot forever be contained. And once someone sees it, really sees it, it can't be unseen. Would be dictators understand this which is why you must go, from "church" or society, if you are intent on speaking truth.

Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

For the few with ears to hear, all who follow Christ are personally responsible for helping and not hindering the Gospel. We are witnessing the worldwide, enslavement of humanity. The local assembly is to be the one, safe haven of escape for the few of likemind. I ask that you would humble yourself and become like the little child JESUS demonstrated rank and entry into the Kingdom with and to please listen.

The scriptures tell us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. We feel like we have spent a great deal and maybe even too much time listening to people who only know how to speak. We listened for many a year, many a service and many a conference to a barrage of unsound doctrine. The worst part is that within the walls of institutional churchianity, there is a one way delivery system, which is the nature of standard programming and always includes a strong dose of censorship. Within the walls of the brick and mortar system, most men don't even take questions once they finish speaking. To be clear, most people who leave are labeled as disgruntled, backslidden, etc. But we didn't leave to be lost. We left to to be saved. We have never advocated throwing the baby out with the bathwater. We would like to say, take good care of the baby and clean the tub but dont have high hopes of being heard by people who love it just the way it is. God is calling His people to come out.

We have listened as a man, with a lofty reputation within an international organization, confronted with truth regarding church structure, publicly came unglued.

We have listened as those who would profess to be ministers of the Gospel, confronted with the apostles' doctrine regarding structure in the local assembly of saints, proudly and foolishly say things like "I don't think it really matters." or "I don't think we have to do it the way the apostles did." We have been told "I've looked into it and rejected it." We have seen poor folks on food stamps told to tithe food while the preacher and his wife drive top of the line SUVs and make it known that shopping at a thrift store is not an option, at least not "for him." We have heard a preacher preaching to preachers that they are the "cardinals" of the apostolic church. It brought me hope to hear the feedback from the congregation on that one fall flat. This is just a wee smattering of the shenanigans and reality show that is mainstream churchianity. No matter how alternative or underground your Brush Arbor roots, if you went the way of the world, you've lost your way. Scripture notes those who hold the truth in unrighteousness as well as those who receive not a love for truth. Without a love for truth, you will be lost.

We've not only listened but have seen things that surely grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Should a man and his wife kneel down in front of an outgoing man and wife in an ordination ceremony? The apostle Peter refused men assuming positions in front of him, lifting them up saying "Stand up; I also am a man." Angels refused men's worship, redirecting worship to God.

We have seen, experienced and bear witness to ministers and their wives living in altered states of reality, believing that they are elite and separate from the body. So caught up in their own world, they wouldn't be able to entertain the thought that they could ever befriend or build a real relationship as true brothers and sisters with anyone outside of their imaginary priest club. It is virtually impossible to that anyone with this mindset could oarticipate in the intimacy of accountability. First, the delusional stronghold must come down. JESUS warns us "Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes and love greetings in the markets, and the higest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts...the same shall receive greater damnation." Luke 20:46-47

JESUS preached and taught the exact opposite of a pagan, caste system/hierarchy. Jesus prayed we would be ONE. He says it time and again in the Gospels how the Gentiles love to rule but that "It shall not be so among you." This carnal thinking and elitist behaviour is based in deception and if not repented of, will cost men and their women and children dearly. We all need one another to function as a whole, healthy, body. From those who think they are the highest, to those who may seem to be the lowest, we need everyone and all hands on deck and we need it now. For those who can not hear this, JESUS says "Leave them alone. They be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, they both shall fall into the ditch." The night comes when no man can work brothers and sisters. It is futile to waste time on people who refuse to hear and it doesn't take long to prayerfully discern the difference. Redeem the time. There are people who will hear it. Only believe.

Moses was a type of CHRIST, not a type of lone pastor, priest or rabbi

A common error is the teaching that Moses was a type of the solo pastor. Moses was a type of Christ who was commanded to ordain elders. A search on YouTube turned up at least 2 videos featuring the late, William Branham as the "prophet like unto Moses." Mr. Branham wasn't sound in even the most basic principles of the doctrine of Christ and at least a chunck of the so called angels of the church ages he references were catholic which was a corporation he puportedly stood against. In most of the Branhamite buildings there are two pictures on the wall -one of the catholic Jesus next to a picture of William Branham with a catholic aura or halo. I once tried to explain to a follower of William Branham that JESUS is the head of the body to which I received an incredulous, mostly, blank stare. He could not believe that the Spirit of Christ was truly capable of leading a congregation. That is what can happen when one's unregenerate mind is awash in the spirit of antichrist dogma .

JESUS most certainly can lead and is ready and willing if people would give Him half a chance and maybe even invite Him to lead. That's just touching the tip of the iceberg on another cult following built around yet another man who came saying Jesus was the Christ while deceiving many. The solo pastor/priest model eclipses or overshadows the only true and rightful head of the body. Wedging anything inbetween the head and the body causes spiritual violence akin to what Christ suffered on the cross. This is exactly what is being done when you insert or wedge any man inbetween JESUS and His body. Speaking of wedge, search "double wedge" images and compare the triangular shape to that of Rome's hierarchy, from which all of the other watered down hierarchical models have come.

Moses was not a type of solo pastor or priest or rabbi. Moses was a type of CHRIST. CHRIST and no other man, is the prophet like unto Moses.

Men that crept in unawares

Disapproval is made explicity clear in Scripture regarding the deeds and doctrine of the Nicolaitans. Nikos meaning "to rule" laitan "the people" Revelation Chapter 2

We see the bad example of Diotrophes who "loved the preeminence."

Along with Diotrophes the apostles named other men who were being corrupted and corrupting such as Demas, Phygelus, Hymenaes, Alexander, Philetus and Hermongenes. Men were trying to make disciples to themselves and not really, truly, fully to CHRIST, very early on.

3 Years of Tears

The beloved Paul, apostle of CHRIST, warned the elders of the early church "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of GOD, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among YOU, not sparing the flock. Also of your OWN SELVES shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after *them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. Acts 20:28-31

Three years of tears while the apostle warned our brothers, sisters, elders and deacons. The faith's first martyr was a deacon and some would scoff at the idea of deacons today. Day and night Paul wept, warning you and I that "of your own selves" shall men arise and to take heed and watch. If the early church dealt with this issue, what would cause us to assume that all is well and less vigilance is needed today?

Follow the Pattern

The LORD is specific and particular about patterns He has laid out. "See, saith He, that thou make all things according to the pattern..." What true believer would be reckless regarding the pattern of salvation in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord? Why then, are men so reckless with the pattern for structure as taught by the apostles, adopting without questioning or searching the scriptures, brutish, hierarchical forms of local governanace rather than the beautiful, egalitarian model gifted to those in Christ Jesus? Perhaps this grotesque departure from the sound doctrine of the apostles could be termed Grand Theft Autocrat.

There is no example in scripture of the apostles ordaining one man to be the head of a local assembly. I recall thinking about the "they" in the New Testament, who watch for your souls and wondering how that doesn't really seem to match the power structure of solo pastor and wife and indeed King and Queen in the institutional church. Where could I go or what could I do but take it to the Lord in prayer? The King James version doesn't help and wasn't intended to expose the error or hierarchy but rather to keep it intact. Afterall, it is the "Authorized" Version. Authorized by who? For the record, the KJV has been a constant in our walk with the Lord but it is not a perfect translation.

Although the word pastor, singular, cannot be found in the King James version, the translators use Bishop and Elder interchangeably which confuses and obscures the clarity of sound church structure. Comparitively, search the New Testament for the word "elders" and see for yourself how many times "they" being a plurality of watchmen of souls are found in scripture verses the 'nere a mention pastor, singular. The word pastor, plural can be found only once. Have you ever wondered why it seems like everyone and their grandma is a "pastor" today?

Closing Thoughts

We have so many wonderful things to discover in scripture as well as safeguards to practice. Until the doctrine of the rightful headship of JESUS is established and scripturally qualified elders and deacons, ordained, wheels will spin and souls will be lost. The following portions of scripture allow a glimpse into some of what we might be missing out on in not doing things God's way: I Corinithians 14:29-31 or I Corinithians 14:36 Sirs, we would see Jesus.

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42 If the book of Acts is what you hunger for, it is up to you to help make it a reality. The institutional church, will never change and so the LORD calls "Come out of her *my people."

Almost 2000 years ago, Paul left Titus on an island with a mandate to "Set in order the things that are wanting" and ordain elders(plural) in every city(singular). Titus 1:5; Acts 14:23 Almost 2000 years later, things are still wanting. Who will attempt to accept personal responsibility and love the Gospel enough to do what you can to set them in order?

A Few Precautions

Everyone seems to have a different idea of what they call eldership, just the way everyone has their own ideas about everything and people want to say that all paths lead to God and other such vain imaginings. This is why we so desperately need teachers who love truth and are willing to labor in the Word and in doctrine. Many will be quick to claim that they indeed do have elders but oftentimes what they mean is that they have some older men who assist(and too often are simply yes men to) the solo pastor. While we desperately need the wisdom of elder men who are in the faith, elders who labor in the word and in doctrine are not just a sidekick to the solo priest/pastor position but his complete replacement and cure.

Furthermore, elders are not in subjection to a far away council unknown to the local assembly or any other unsound form of church structure. Every local assembly is autonomous. There is no true accountability when men live hundreds of miles apart and rarely see one another, let alone know one another's lives. The local assembly of saints with face to face, communication and real, local relationships is what creates true accountability and a safe place to assemble, so much the more as you see the day approaching.
